HANSEN, Willy - It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Willy Hansen on March 17, 2021 at Comox Valley Hospital.
Willy was born in Montreal on August 25, 1932 and attended West Hill High. He was an only child and very proud of his Scandinavian heritage. Willy was honored to have served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years where he travelled the world before retiring from the RCN as Petty Officer, First Class.

Willy fell in love with the beautiful west coast of Canada where he enjoyed most of his retirement. Willy's passions included skiing, fishing and music including a fondness for Pavarotti. Willy was a kind and gentle soul with a witty sense of humour.

Willy reunited with his high school sweetheart Tilly in 1989. Willy was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Predeceased by his son Rob and wife Tilly. Willy is survived by his children Lauri (Denise), Glenn (Amy), Lori (Steve), Kim and Karen; grandchildren Jamie, Tom, Chris, Leanne and great granddaughter Lily. Willy will be sadly missed by all and we are happy he is now with Tilly again.

A special thank you to his neighbors Carl & Fran, Rick & Gail, Kathy and Marianne for their kindness and support and to friends Bob & Judy, Rene and Ross.
A private Celebration of Life will be held and Willy's ashes scattered by the Denman Island lighthouse.

Rest in Peace our Willy (The Comox Valley Record 17 Mar 2021)
