MOORE, Gerald Earle (Tick) - 78, Hubbards, died October 6, 1997, at home. Born in Bear River, Annapolis Co., he was a son of the late Capt. Arthur and Ethel (Porter) Moore. He was a self-employed electrician and plumber. He was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Chester. He was an avid golfer and a member of Chester Golf Club. He was a member of Seasiders Senior Citizens Club, Blandford; member of the Usostomy Association of Nova Scotia, and a former member of Lions Club International. He and his late wife Phyllis of 52 years were avid travellers and enjoyed the warm climates during the winter months. Surviving are sons, Earle, Deep Cove; Malcolm (Mack), Halifax; daughter, Colleen Hilchie, Truro; sister, Evelyn Shuster, Fort Lauderdale; grandchildren, David, Derek, Stephanie and Gregory; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Michael. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Phyllis Publicover; sons, Lloyd, Louis; brothers, Capt. A.W. (Art), Capt. L.F. (Pat), Parker; sister, Elaine Goldstein. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m., legion service 7 p.m. both today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards, Rev. J. Eayrs officiating. Burial of cremated remains in Pinehill Cemetery, Hubbards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
