In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
GOUDY, John - With family at his side, John set sail on his final voyage on May 13, 2024, at the age of 93. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Gabrielle; children Paul (Kirsten), Fiona, and David (Chieko); grandchildren Adam, Taylor, Paige and Grayson.
Born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England, John attended the Dartmouth Naval College at the age of 13, and entered the Royal Navy. When his family immigrated to Canada, he transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy. After a distinguished career with the Navy, he opted for a change and became a Physics Administrator at the University of Victoria. Upon retirement, he was elected as one of the original councillors with the City of Langford.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. (The Victoria Times Colonist 18 May 2024)
