In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
PARROTT, Florence Mary (née McMillen) - Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, with family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Jack Ewing Parrott (1973). Florence was the loving mother of Jean and her husband Gary Christie of Fort Erie, ON, Keith and his wife Tina Quinlan of Williamsville, NY and Noel and his wife Marja of Norwood, ON. Proud grandmother of Allison and Greg Christie and Melissa Parrott and great-grandmother of Lindsey, Clara and Graham. Florence was a graduate of the St. Michael's School of Nursing, Class of '42, serving as a Nursing Sister in the Royal Canadian Navy, both in NL and BC where she met and married Jack. She was a member of the Toronto Naval Club. A memorial celebration of her life will be conducted on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Sunnybrook Veterans Chapel, E-Wing, Ground Floor Room 3, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sunnybrook Veterans Comfort Fund for the upkeep of the K-Wing Garden that gave Mom so much pleasure. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sunnybrook for their wonderful care over the years. (The Toronto Star 23 Jul 2013)
