QUINLAN, Ronald Delmont (Ron) - passed away peacefully at home in Kitchener surrounded by the love of family on April 15, 2024 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Carolyn (Joseph) for 56 laughter and love filled years. Loving father of Christopher (Samantha), Sean (Shelley) and Kathleen (Tim Wilson). Papa Q as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren will be missed and remembered by Elijah, Patrick, Mackenzie, Maggie, Grace, James, Julia and Jonathan. Ron is predeceased by his parents Everett and Loretta (Janisse). Ron was born in Windsor, Ontario on November 27, 1942. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy and served for three years. Following his years of service, Ron began a career in the steel business. He owned and operated Service Steel (1982-1990) and Quinlan & Associates (1999-2016). He finished his career working at Ontario Steel with his good friend Keith Fetting (2016-2023). Ron continued working until last year finding enjoyment talking and building friendships with his customers. Blessed to be part of a large, close knit Irish family Ron was ever the entertainer. He delighted in telling stories and jokes. Making his family laugh was his greatest joy. Ronny will forever be remembered by his siblings Denise (Bill Proulx, decd.), Sister Donna CSJ, Colleen (Frank McMorrow), Beth (Dave Schmelfske), Barb (Bruno Mancini), Laurie (Chuck Bosnyak), Marm (Mike Hughes), Jim (Eve) and Jane (Philip Boots). Ron is also loved and remembered by the Joseph family, his many nieces and nephews, his friends at Bluewater Golf Course and Campground in Bayfield and the Lexington Grand Community. He was also a member of the Waterloo Knights of Columbus. We wish to thank the Palliative Care Team from WWLHIN who allowed Ron to remain home in his final days. Special thank you to Khadija and Sanaa for their compassion and care.
