Died: 04 Dec 19998, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia

 

PARENT, Marc Joseph Jean-Guy - 36 Chameau Crescent, Dartmouth, died suddenly, Friday, December 4, 1998, in Cobequid Multi-Service Centre, Lower Sackville, as the result of congenital heart failure. Born in Shawinigan, Que., he was a son of Pierette Giguere, Quebec. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church and was an instructor with the Junior Leadership Academy. During his career with the Navy, he received many medals, including Special Service Medal for the time spent with NATO, his NATO-OTAN Medal for his duty in the Adriatic and the UN peace keeping mission with the Standard Force Atlantic, Canadian Forces Decoration Medal and also received his ship diver's qualification. Surviving are his companion and wife of 15 years, the former Lorie Dresch; daughter, Melissa Sue Parent, age 6 1/2; twin daughters, Jennifer Nicole and Jessica Marie, age 7 months; sisters, Line Parent and Nicole Parent, both of Shawinigan; Mario, Sylvain, Michel Parent, all of Shawinigan. No flowers by family request. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, and 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Cremation to follow. Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Flying Cloud Drive, Dartmouth, Rev. Jacques Cantin and Padre Gerard Vardy co-officiating.
