Died: 25 Jul 1963, Lunenburg, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia

 

ANDERSON, Borden A. - passed away at his home in Lunenburg on Thursday, July 25th, after a lengthy illness. Born in Lunenburg 47 years ago, he was the son of the late Mr and Mrs Reginald Anderson. After completing his scholarship at the Lunenburg Academy, he sailed on fishing schooners including the 'Bluenose' before joining the Royal Canadian Navy in which he served for five years during World War ll. Upon completing his war service, he joined the staff of the inspection branch of the Department of Fisheries at Lunenburg. He was a member of Branch #23, Royal Canadian Legion, the Masonic Lodge and St John's Anglican Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Bernice Schauffenburg; two sons, Reginald serving with the Canadian Army in Picton, Ontario, and Karl at home. Also surviving are two grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son Patrick. The funeral was held from St John's Anglican Church on July 29th conducted by Ven Archdeacon H Graven. Interment was in the family plot in Hillcrest Cemetery.
