CRAWFORD, Charles William (Chuck) - After a prolonged illness our family announces with deep sadness the passing of Charles (Chuck) William Crawford of Tillsonburg at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 age 85 years. Beloved husband of 58 years to Helen Crawford (nee: Stout). Loving uncle to Paul (Kathryn) Plant of Woodstock; Debra (Tom) Bowen of Peterborough; Kevin (Carol) Stout of Gore?s Landing; Lisa (Joe) Cummings of Whitby; Marleah Stout of Toronto. Chuck is also survived by his many great nieces and nephews. Chuck was the former owner of Stauffer Motors Ltd. in Tillsonburg until his early retirement, a Past President and long time member of the Tillsonburg Golf and Country Club, and past member of the Tillsonburg Rotary Club. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII serving on the ship the Mohawk travelling between Inverness, and Murmansk, Russia. In honour of Chuck's request there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. A private family gathering in his memory will be held at a later date with interment in the family plots at Tillsonburg Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. At the family's request memorial donations (payable by cheque) may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. (Norfolk and Tillsonburg News 12 Feb 2010)
