In 1977, he was appointed as a Justice to The Supreme Court of Ontario, now known as The Superior Court of Ontario. He served on the bench for 20 years, before he retired early to become a founding member of ADR Chambers practicing mediations and arbitrations until he was 88 years old. He was a Bencher of the Ontario Law Society, a member of the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. He was a founding member of the Advocate Society of Ontario, and was their third President. This later became a national organization. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service, and his cremated remains will be interred at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family extends sincere gratitude to the excellent nurses, doctors and staff at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, for their care and concern during his 3 1/2 months of residency. In lieu of flowers and if desired, a donation may be made in his name to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, specifically to the Veterans Centre or a Charity of Your Choice.
