BORLAND,  Lewis Blair - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lewis Blair Borland. Lewis passed away peacefully on October 19 at St. Paul's Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Annie Borland, his wife Doris, brother Kyle Borland and daughter Joan May. Lewis was born June 23, 1921 in Saskatoon where he spent his growing up years. He was in the Navy during World War II, serving on the Prince David. Lewis met Doris Ward in 1939 and were married on January 3, 1942. When Lewis returned from the War, he followed in his fathers footsteps, joining CN Rail and becoming a Locomotive machinist, retiring in 1979. Lewis and Doris were blessed with five children, Joan, Diane (Bill), Ron (Johann), Lorraine (Dwayne) and Wayne (Lorraine); 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In keeping with the wishes of Lewis, a graveside service will be held Friday, October 21, 2011 at 3:30 at Hillcrest Funeral Home, for family and friends. Arrangements are in care of Hillcrest Funeral Home, Sten Olesen (477-4400). Many thanks to the wonderful nurses on the 5th floor at St. Paul's Hospital. (The Saskatoon StarPhoenix 21 Oct 2011)
