In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
ABBOTT, Karen Denis (née COLLIER) - Sadly passed away at the age of 79 on October 13th, 2023. She joins her mother Gladys, father Albert, uncle Weldon, son Daniel, and half-sister Tracy.
She will be greatly missed by daughters Kristi Abbott, Karen Abbott (Andrew) and Lisa Mahoney (Michael); along with her beautiful grandchildren Leah (John), Aidan, Jacob, Hannah, Lily, Violet, Evaleigh, great grandson Weston, and half-sister Trudy Feltham (Lloyd), and many nieces and nephews.
Mom spent most of her life on Vancouver Island, and her later years were spent in Newfoundland and then Nova Scotia. She always yearned to return to her beautiful British Columbia though.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She sacrificed so much of herself for her daughters, and it has not gone unnoticed. She volunteered at our schools, attended all of our performances, and made the best costumes for us. She fondly remembered and loved talking about her time as a Wren in the Royal Canadian Navy. She loved cooking, gardening, puzzling, reading and playing board games with her grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. No service at the present time. In lieu of flowers, donations can me made to a charity of your choice. (Atlantic Funeral Homes) (The Victoria Times Colonist 19 Oct 2023)
