No words can express our loss…Bernard and Connie shared five children: Lisa, Leanne, Patrick (Judith), David, and Sean (Karen). They adored their six grandchildren: Zachary, Tye, Ariana, Mya, Liam, and Wyatt…How he loved us all!! He leaves behind three wonderful sisters: Rita (George) Monaghan, Jeannine (Brian) Bennett, and Sheila (Dino) Dunsford; brothers-in-law: Lorne (Honey) Roberts, Gerry (Theresa) Roberts; sisters-in-law: Austina Garnhum, Bertha (Neville) Lawless, and Elva Roberts; and by special nieces and nephews. All have fond memories of Bernard and can tell many stories about him. Bernard was predeceased by his beautiful sister Marie; brother-in-law, Leonard Roberts; sister-in-law, Elizabeth and her husband William Weatherbie.

Bernard - a kind and loving GUY! A Big Heart that ceased to beat at the age of 84, or, as he would say, "almost 85". Happiness was what he wished for all…. Take life one day at a time and LIVE IT!! He said his prayers daily, as taught by his wonderful parents John R. McCabe and Rose McGuigan McCabe. They will welcome him now with open arms…we are sure that they are praying for all of us now, with Bernard directing… Bernard had many accomplishments and a colorful life well lived!! St Dunstan’s University - Class of 1961, Dalhousie Law School - J.D., K.C., Royal Canadian Navy (an officer and a gentleman), JAG Officer, Developed his own law firm - Bernard McCabe & Associates, Amalgamated with Cox & Palmer Law Firm. *At the age of 58, he headed South for some fun in the sun!! * Wow! 23 years of wonderful retirement has come to an end…However, Bernard/Dad/Brother and Friend will always live on in the hearts of all of us he touched… Bernard - have a "whale of a time in Heaven"…You are THE BEST!!
