GOATBE, Lynda Dawn - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lynda Dawn Goatbe on March 19, 2023, at the age of 73. After a short battle with cancer Lynda passed with her loving family by her side. Beloved spouse of Peter Ardley for 23 years. Loving mom of Gregory (Christina) Maheux, Angelyn Maheux and Sarah (Jason) Maheux. She was loved and adored by her grandchildren Jacob, Logan, Opal, Taylor, Sapphire and also her great-granddaughter Lillian. Lynda was a caring sister to Jerra Lynn (Richard) Anderson, Diane Falls and Richard (Nancy) Goatbe, honorary sister to Aline Balanda. Sister in-law to Marilyn (Lloyd) Benteau, Dan (Diana) Ardley, Helen James, Cathy Moroun, Virginia (John) Ardley and cherished aunt to her nieces, nephews, and extended family. Lynda was a lifetime gardener and believed that if there was a garden that needed to be loved that she was just the lady to do it, making the world more beautiful one flower at a time. Lynda worked for the GECDSB as a head secretary for 43 years before she gladly took her retirement from Massey Secondary School to spend time with her family and volunteer with the HMCS Hunter in which she actively served for 20+ years. Lynda will always be remembered for her love of Halloween and the amazing costumes she always made and wore, her passion for all things gardening and the love she had for her family and fur babies. Special thanks to the nursing staff on the 4th floor at Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that a donation to the Windsor Humane Society or Hospice Windsor be made. A celebration of life will follow at a later date, determined by the family.
