FRANCIS, Harvey Douglas - passed away in the Renoun Memorial Hospital, Reno, Nevada, on August 24, 2023. He was born in Plymouth Park, Pictou County on July 22, 1925. Although he left his native province as a young man, he never forgot his roots and loved to reminisce about those early years. He returned frequently to Nova Scotia and his family was always delighted to see him. He was a seventy-five plus years Masonic Lodge member and was very proud of that accomplishment. He was a conductor with the Southern Pacific Railroad which travelled in California, Nevada and Oregon. He was a World War 11 veteran having served with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his parents, William Sr. & Annie (Johnson) Francis; brothers Walter, William Jr., Edward; sisters Vera, Hilda, Mildred; niece Norma Francis and great nephew Mark Rose. He was also predeceased by his first wife Eleanor (Riggs) Francis; second wife Virginia (Zink) Francis and partner Josephine Davis. He is survived by his nephews, Bill, Bob, Ken, Owen Francis; nieces Joan Manuel, Miriam Malek, Lynn Kelley, Mary Bernier, Marjorie Rose, Eileen English. The funeral will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:30 am from Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton, NS. Prior to the celebration of life, the Masonic Keith Lodge #23 will hold a tribute in Harvey’s honor in the church commencing at 11 am. Internment will take place in the Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Alma, NS. (Angus Funeral Home)
