In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
HANNA, Robert Arthur (Bob) - passed away peacefully in West Vancouver, aged 88 years. He is lovingly remembered by Dorothy (Dot) his wife of 61 years, their son Scott (Sarah), daughters Leslea, Wendy (Greg), and Kerry, identical twin brother Jack (Nancy), brothers Murray (Janice), and Blake, grandchildren Eleanor, Tory, Aaron, Lindsay and Kaden, and many nephews, nieces and friends. Bob was born in Calgary and moved to Vancouver at the age of 6 years. He attended McGee High School and, after graduation, joined the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve and served on corvettes during WWII. Bob attended UBC then entered the world of finance, eventually retiring from HSBC after a long and successful career as a commercial banker. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to spend time in his woodworking shop. He had a positive disposition, was generous and caring, had a great sense of humour, and had a soft spot for dogs, pretty much all dogs. He was a terrific role model who will be sadly missed. The family wish to thank the staff of Capilano Care Centre for the care provided to him. A service honouring his life was held on Wednesday, August 21st from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. At Seymour Golf & Country Club 3723 Mount Seymour Parkway, North Vancouver. Reception to follow. In memory of Bob, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC SPCA at 1205 East 7th Ave, Vancouver, BC V5T 1R1. (The North Shore News 21 Aug 2013)
