Died: 06 Jun 2023, Saint John, New Brunswick

 

HAMM, Hodges Parker - 74, passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2023, with his family by his side at the SJRH, following a brief illness. Born in Montreal, Quebec on August 22, 1948, he was the son of late Frank Sr. and Jean Gail (Hodges) Hamm.

 

He will be profoundly missed by the love of his life, his wife of 50 years Lorraine, his daughter the apple of his eye Brandy (Erik) Mulherin, his Grand Dog’s Fizz and Zeke, his brothers, Ron, Frank (Sandra), sister, Linda Dupuis, his sister-in-law Alice McLeod (Fred), brother-in-law, David Melanson (Sheryl), his many nieces and nephews who he loved whole heartedly, as well as all of his extended family members and good friends. Hodges is predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law Paul Dupuis.

 

Ever the jokester, “you haven’t been had until you’ve been Hodged”. He Loved to entertain and make people laugh. He knew how to make everyone he met have a good chuckle and made sure you knew you were special. Hodges had a huge heart, if you were a friend, you were family. Always ready to help in any way he could. He was always on the go and passionate about many things.

 

A well-known and respected Realtor, “Hodges Hamm the Real Estate Man aka “The Butler”, spent 44 years in the industry with the majority of his time with RE\MAX, Saint John, NB.

 

Hodges also proudly served with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves and Cadet Movement; 26 years combined. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He was a Canadian Forces Decoration Recipient. He also was awarded the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal and the Navy League of Canada 10-year Service Medal. His love and passion for the RCNR spanned his entire life.

 

In addition to the Navy, Hodges was involved in countless other Associations and Committees.

 

His unforgettable big personality and heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May we recall his jokes often to ensure we have a laugh to ease the sadness.

 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). There will be a celebration of Life held at the HMCS Brunswicker 1 Navy way in Saint John, NB on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, from 2-6 pm. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, The Royal Canadian Legion or the Saint John SPCA. (Brenan's Funeral Home)
