MARENGERE, Joseph Francois Bernard MARENGORE, Bernard Joseph (Barney) [sic] - Borgalds Point, Chester Basin, died peacefully October 5, 1998, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Veteran's Unit, Lunenburg.
Born in Gatineau, Que., he was a son of the late Emile and Yvonne (Bray) Marengore.
He served in the Second World War, Korea and the UN Peace Keeping Force.
He retired from the Royal Canadian Navy as chief petty officer after 22 years of service.
Barney was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Everett Branch 88, Chester Basin, and the Masonic Lodge 69, Mahone Bay.
Surviving are his wife, the former June Hatt; daughter, Yvonne and husband Payson Rowell, Moncton, N.B.; stepdaughter, Marlene Duffney, Chester Basin; stepson, Curtis Collicutt, Windsor Road; sister, Sylvia McDonald, Thunder Bay, Ont.; brother, Andre and wife Kay Marengore, Detroit, Mich.; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mrs. Kirk Brouse), Waterloo, Ont.; Julia (Mrs. Grant Eshpeter), Bellevue, Wash.; Lisa Smithson, Brooke Collicutt; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation today from 7-9 p.m. in Davis Funeral Home, Chester, with legion service at 7 p.m. and Masonic service at 8:30 p.m.
Funeral
will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Chester United Baptist Church, Rev. Danny Green
and Rev. Robert Coote, officiating. Family flowers only. In lieu, donations
may be made to Veteran's Unit at Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg,
