Died: 20 May 2023, Halifax, Nova Scotia

HUTT, Peter Martin - It is with heavy hearts we announce that Peter has passed away on May 20, 2023 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimers.

Born June 6, 1945 in Saint John, NB, he was the youngest son of the late Elroy and Katherine (MacDonald) Hutt. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Peters), son Timothy (Michelle) of Tantallon, daughter Jennifer (Andy) of Vancouver Island, brother Kenneth (Cathie), grandchildren Chelsea, Chloe (Tyler), Hayden and the apple of his eye, great granddaughter Evelyn. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Beginning his career in Esquimalt, BC, Peter served in the Canadian Navy from 1965 to 1993. Following completion of training, he served on many of Her Majesty's Ships, completed a valuable tour as an exchange officer with the US Navy and an overseer of construction for Halifax Class Frigates. After retirement to Marriots Cove, Peter enjoyed fishing and boating in the waters of Mahone Bay and a good round of golf, with the hole in one always eluding him. Strong willed and at times stubborn, he was clever and took pride in offering advice whether it was appreciated or not.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on May 26, 2023 at Snows Funeral Home on Lacewood Drive. A heartfelt thank you to the fabulous staff of V6 West at Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Hospital for the excellent care, love and support you have provided to Peter and family over the last several years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society of Nova Scotia.

"And, one day

I looked back for you

But you weren't there anymore

A stranger did I see

Looking back at me

And, in that very moment

I did promise

That I would keep on looking back for you

As I know

One day

I will

See you again" - Athey Thompson
