Born: 04 Mar 1965          Died: 17 May 2023

 

DAY, Neil Dawson - peacefully passed away in the early hours of May 17, 2023 at his home with his loving wife and best friend, Tina Day by his side. Neil is survived by his son Nico Chant of British Columbia, father Morris Day of Elora and siblings Eddie Ringer (Kim Holland Ringer) of Nova Scotia, Carol Day of Elora, and Lorena (Jack) Boughner of Simcoe. He will be missed by his favourite mother-in-law Fern Nutbrown and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Neil was predeceased by his son Robert Day of Nova Scotia and his mother Nina Day of Elora. Neil was a man of character and was the type of person to offer assistance to anyone in need. He loved the outdoors and his leisure time included fishing and hunting as well as flying drones and enjoying the experience of nature. He loved to play his guitar and was a skilled woodworker. Neil was proud to have served in the Royal Canadian Navy where he met many lifelong friends and had incredible experiences. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Neil's life will be held at a later date. (The Waterloo Region Record 20 May 2023)
