Died: 08 Jan 2010, Red Deer, Alberta

 

DOCKRILL, Arthur Frederick (Art) - It is with immense sadness that the family of Arthur "Art" Dockrill announce his peaceful passing in the early morning of Friday, January 8th, 2010 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 83 years.

 

Art will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 58 years, Dorothy, his daughter Lorna of Hamilton, ON, and his four sons; Doug (Rosemary) of Carp, ON, Shawn of Halifax, NS, Arthur of Red Deer, AB and Terry (Linda) of Red Deer, AB. His memory will be forever cherished by his 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 

 

Art was predeceased by his parents Arthur W. and Susan Dockrill, brother L/SWU William Dockrill, his daughter Kathy Cameron, and his son-in-law Dave Cameron.

 

Dad was born in Montreal P.Q. in 1926. He was an Able Seaman in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, and retired from Northern Electric after 34 years of employment. Art loved his boat and fishing, but his real passion was all the BBQs and family gatherings. He will be missed by his treasured dog Shelby and all his loving family as well as all who had met him over time. 

 

A Celebration of Life Service for the late Art Dockrill will be held on Thursday, January 14th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67 A Street, Red Deer, AB. Art will be laid to rest in the Beechwood National Military Cemetery in Ottawa, ON in the early summer.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Art's memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, B102, 121 -5212 - 48 Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 7C3.
