In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
James as 21 years of age when his brother, Paul Joseph Matthews, died in the sinking of HMCS GUYSBOROUGH during the Second World War. In the document below, from Paul' service file, James' surname is listed as Mathews while all other family is listed as Matthews. It is not known if this is an error or if James went by Mathews.
