Ivan was known for his love of people, music, cars, aviation, and seafood. He never passed up a chance for lobster. He met Jan, the love of his life, on Long Beach on Vancouver Island. Ivan’s quirky sense of humour and big smile were legendary, as was his love of Canada’s North. He had fond memories of growing up in the Yukon and the Northwest Territories, as well as the family home on Salt Spring Island, BC. He was devoted to his wife and family, supporting all their interests and activities.
