BIANCHINI, Robert (Bob) - "Bobs Golf Club Repairs" My handsome and loving husband passed away March 12 at Cottonwoods. He was only there for ten days - prior to that he was at home and I (Marg), his wife, was his caregiver. He was born in Hillcrest, Alberta to Italian immigrants. His Mother died when he was 10 yrs old. At 12 yrs old he worked at a dairy farm and lumberyard for a dollar a day. At 15 he was working at Mohawk Calleries Coal Mine as a rope rider - underground with a horse unhooking 150 lbs of coal onto an empty 2.5 ton coal car - 60 to 70 times a day - all day for $6/day. He then joined the Navy in Victoria - achieved his Auxiliary Watchkeepers Certificate - 4th class Steam Engineer in 1949. Also obtained his Diesel Electric Course in 1948-1949. He served for 5 years. He came back to Alberta, met and married Jacquie Maloney. He attended SAIT for 4 years in Calgary and received Automotive Auto Mechanic Certificate. He drew up the Schlematic Automotive Electrical System which was displayed at SAIT in 1953. He worked at Jenner Motors in Edmonton and then moved to Calgary in 1967 and worked at Shaw Trucks and McKay Pontiac Buick as a Service manager where he met and married me, Margaret Lengyel of Bow Island, AB in 1977. In 1979 we moved to Kelowna where he set up Bob's Golf Club Repairs and serviced most of BC golf repairs with his fine workmanship. He leaves behind his 4 children, Dave, Danny and Maureen (twins), Bruce and their families. 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Life's journey ended - a good life. I'll always miss you - My Robert. No service as requested. (The Okanagan Valley Newspaper Group 07 Apr 2023)
