In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MATTHEWS, Russell - We are saddened to announce the passing of Russell Matthews at Case Manor on February 10, 2023. Husband to the late Jacklyn Matthews (1997). Russell leaves behind his children Terry Michael Matthews (Bev) and Carole Anne Matthews. Russell was an amazing grandfather Derick, Kayla, Kyle, Ian, Jamie, Brittany and Thomas and a great grandfather to Shiann, Amara, Katelyn, Darren, Danny, Sierra and Jade. Russell will be dearly missed by his sisters Barb Harris, Nancy Matthews, and brother Lawrence Matthews (Marg). Russell is predeceased by his special friend Ruth Gibson and his first wife Doris. Russell was also a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a long-time member of the Bobcaygeon Legion. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Hendren Funeral Home - Monk Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 239, (96 King Street East Bobcaygeon) on Sunday April 30th, 2023 beginning at 1:00 PM. Memorial donations can be made in memory of Russell to the Royal Canadian Legion branch 239 in Bobcaygeon. (Kawartha Region News 16 Mar 2023)
