TAYLOR, Donald M. F. - Halifax, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Belleville, Ont., he was a son of the late George and Maude (Barnes) Taylor. He served 25 years in the RCN retiring as Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class. Upon retirement, he was employed by the Nova Scotia Provincial Government Departments of Education and Health from 1977 to 1991. He was an adherent of the Salvation Army, Citadel Corp, Barrington Street. He was an avid bowler for many years. He was a life member of the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess and a life member of H.M.C.S. Iroquois Veterans Association. He is survived by daughters, Mary (Maurice) Patenaude, Durham, Ont.; Donna (James) Pettigrew, Durham, Ont.; Janet, Sable River; sons, Douglas (Marilyn), Christopher, Allan (Susan), Paul, all of Guelph, Ont.; Dana (Denise), Timberlea; Kevin (Laurie), Halifax: long-time friend, Mildred MacDonald; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by grandson, Donald; brothers, William and Arthur. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 2-4 p.m. followed by funeral service at 4:30 p.m. all in J. A.
