MANN, Glenn Charles John - quietly slipped away January 23, 2023 at The Bridge Hospice. He was 71. Cherished husband of 37 years to Elaine (Darling) Mann. Glenn enjoyed being dad to Melissa(Rasmus) and Charles(Erika), and was delighted with his two grandsons, Henry and Olof. Glenn was a prairie boy and loved going home to the farm, his siblings, nephews and cousins in Saskatchewan.

Glenn joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a steward on west coast ships and enthusiastically moved to the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Military Policeman six years later. He served for 30 years. Glenn loved to share stories of his adventures and mishaps, focusing on Peacekeeping in Egypt, and flights with the Governor General as Aircraft Security Officer. A five year tour in Haida Gwaii, hunting and fishing, were also sources of anecdotes. As a second career, Glenn appreciated speedy trips through Canada and the USA as a driver for Macton Express for another ten years.

Glenn enjoyed life, his family and making friends wherever he went. In retirement he developed a passion for mentoring fellow victims of Operational Stress Injury and keeping Veteran Affairs on their toes.

Glenn’s Funeral is planned for February 7, 2023 at the Rushnell Funeral Homes – Brighton, 130 Main Street (613-475-2121), with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of Service at 2:00 p.m. For anyone wishing to make a Memorial Donation, please consider CAN PRAXIS, an Equine Assisted Therapy Programme for Veterans and First Responders with Operational Stress Injuries and their families.
