Edward Francis (Ed) Quigg

Died: 10 Dec 2022, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

 

QUIGG, Edward Francis (Ed) - age 73, of Dartmouth, passed away Saturday evening, December 10, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Born in Nipigon, Ontario, he was the son of the late Martin and Irene (Ryder) Quigg.

 

Ed had a long career as a Meteorologist in the Canadian Armed Forces serving on land and aboard ship. After retirement, he served with the Commissionaires Corps for many years. He was a true handyman who even built his own house. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing hockey as a goalie. He loved golfing and playing billiards and was a member of the Metro Pool League.

 

He loved making and drinking wine and was a member of the Halifax Dartmouth Wine Circle. He loved travelling the world with his wife; from their first trip overseas in Europe to travelling across Canada in their Catalina Coachman and most of all, their special trip to Hawaii. Ed was a much-loved husband, brother, father and grandfather. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

 

Ed is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janet (Fulton); daughters, Jennifer (Roy), Stephanie (Dean); grandchildren, Amelia and Abigail. He is also survived by his sisters, Marilyn Cartmill, and Elizabeth Latter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

He was predeceased by his sister Eileen Quigg-Lippert.

 

Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm on Wednesday December 14th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth, with the funeral service immediately following at 2pm in the funeral home chapel, Rev James Haughn officiating. Reception to follow. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation.
