Veteran of the Second World war. He was the son of the late Lloyd and Bertha nee Hardy Dunbar. Predeceased by a Grandson, Shawn Pedersen, His step Mother Pearl Baglole, Brother Lorne Dunbar, Sisters Martha Gordon, Thirza (Late Glenn) Matthews and by Step Sisters Mona (Late David) Lockhart, Ena (Late Gordon) Carr, Bertha Fortier. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home Alberton. Funeral on Wednesday Afternoon with funeral service at 3;00 P.M. Pastor Ross Morrisson Officiating. Interment in the Alma Alberton Baptist Cemetery Greenmount. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. As an expression of Sympathy memorials to the Alma Alberton Baptist Cemetery Fund, or to the Alma Alberton Baptist Church would be gratefully appreciated. Comrades from St. Anthony's Branch of the Royal Canadian legion will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home at 6;45 P.M. Brethren from Zetland Lodge # 7 Alberton will hold a Masonic service at the funeral home at 9:00 P.M.

George, son of Lloyd M. and Bertha (Hardy) Dunbar was born in Montrose, PEI and joined the Navy serving in the North Atlantic and the English Channel on the HMCS ASSINIBOINE from December 9, 1941 to September 12, 1945 and received the France/Germany Star, the 1939-1945 Star with Clasp, the George V Medal, the Jubilee Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the Atlantic Star with Clasp.

George's brother Eric Dunbar also served in the RCNVR during the Second World War.
