          Died: 05 Sep 2013, Saanichton, British Columbia

 

Served in the Navy 06 Dec 1939 - 26 Mar 1971

 

PERCIVAL, Edward (Ted) - passed away on September 5, 2013 at Saanich Peninsula Palliative Care Unit. Predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Eleanor, (July 2, 2012). He is survived by his three children; Shelagh Lindley (Dave), Gail Fowles (Bob), Rick Percival (Ann). Ted also leaves his grandchildren; Brian (Dina), Heather (Dave), Bruce (Shannon), Nicky, Natalie and great-grandchildren; Chase, Zachary, Katie, Ashley, Alysha, Tyler, Matt, Katia and Alexis. Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, son of Charles Alfred Percival and Dorothy Elizabeth Becker. Ted joined the Royal Canadian Navy in Winnipeg. His naval career ended March 26, 1972 as a Lieutenant having completed 33 years proudly serving his country. Ted and Eleanor enjoyed early retirement in Mexico followed by many much loved cruises. Dad and Mum both spent their last years in care at the Lodge at Broadmead. The family would like to thank the staff of West Coast B Lodge for their compassionate and giving care. Also many thanks to the staff at Saanich Peninsula Palliative Care Unit, especially Denise who gave us sincere support at such a hard time. There will not be a service by request. Mum and Dad's ashes will be scattered by family in the ocean at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. (The Victoria times Colonist 08 Sep 2013)
