Predeceased by his siblings Frieda, Art, Walt, John, Clara, Lil, Dave and Ted. Dick was born in Glenella Manitoba and moved to Wolseley Saskatchewan at age 5. In his teens, he moved to London Ontario where he began working for Emco Limited. In 1944, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served on a Corvette in the North Atlantic until the end of the war. He then returned to a sales position at Emco where he met his future wife, Liz. They were married in 1952 and celebrated their 70th anniversary this July. In 1965, he became the manager of the Guelph Emco branch until his retirement in 1991 after 50 years with the company. Dick enjoyed playing bridge for many years, travelling with Liz to Europe, Hawaii, and driving to Florida.
