DUNMORE, Donald Stewart - Passing away peacefully in his 100th year on October 30, 2022, now reunited with his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret Jean Dunmore, nee Clifford (2016). Proud father to Gordon (Janis), Gary (Sheila), Valerie Vriesen (Henry), Greg (Heather), Geoff (Debbie). Devoted Grandpa to Andrew (Jennifer), Sarah (Ryan), Tim, Stewart (Rhiannon), Shaunna (Marcel), Corinne (Michael), Bryce (Brittney), Eric (Vanessa), Devyn, Griffin (Lauren), Ryan (Sarah), and Alex. Doting Great-Grandpa to Emma, Bronson, Ava, Bree, Jack, Sophie, Brooke, Abigail, William, Everly, Mara, Luca, Grace, Henry, Morgan, Keaton, and Avery. Survived by brother Larry (Ann), sister Pauline (Al), and sister-in-law Norma (Earl). Predeceased by brother Max and sister-in-law Elaine, brother Earl, and special cousins Harry and Elva Wharram. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. After serving Canada during World War II in the Royal Canadian Navy, Don became a skilled tradesman with credentials as both a carpenter and plumber, raising his family as a contractor, building inspector and water superintendent (Gosfield South Twp). A long-time member of Erie Shores Golf and Country Club, Sun Parlour Curling Club, and the Royal Canadian Legion, Don volunteered his time and abilities ceaselessly. Special thanks to Dad's PSW angel, Lisa, and the caring staff at Erie Shores Health Care. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home (519-326-2631) 14 Russell Street, Leamington, on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 2-5 p.m. with a Legion service at 4:00 p.m. Memorial service on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Erie Shores Health Care Foundation, The Royal Canadian Legion, or to the Olinda-Ruthven United Church. (The Windsor Star 03 Nov 2022)
