DRYSDALE, William Albert (Mike) - Passed away peacefully on October 25, 2022, at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre at the age of 97. Predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Betty Ruth, he leaves a loving family of 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mike was born and raised in Montreal, QC, and served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a radio operator at the end of World War II. After earning a BSc from McGill University, he had a 30-year career with CIL Industrial Chemicals in Montreal and Toronto, where his leisure time activities included tennis, cycling and skiing. Mike then retired to Bracebridge and spent 35 years enjoying golf and curling at the South Muskoka Golf and Curling Club, plus community activities through PROBUS and the Royal Canadian Legion. With his wife, Betty, he created and maintained extensive gardens at their home on the South Muskoka Golf Course and volunteered at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, where they both earned Lifetime Auxiliary Memberships. He was very proud to have lived in his own home on the golf course until the age of 96, and the family is very grateful to the staff at the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre for welcoming him in and providing a caring home since then. Plans for a Celebration of Life are ongoing, and details will be published at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion in Bracebridge or Sunnybrook Veterans Centre in Toronto. (The Muskoka Region News 11 Nov 2022)
