WALSH, Gerald Thomas - Age 77 years. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend Gerald (Jerry). Gerald passed away on October 22 at the Halifax Infirmary with his family at his side. Born in Antigonish on June 4th 1945. He was the second oldest son of the late Helena (Scallion) and James Graham Walsh. Gerald Retired in 1991 from the Royal Canadian Navy as a air frame technician for 28 years. For the past 48 years Gerald dedicated his time to Scouts Canada. where he touched many lives and made lifelong friends. He also had a passion for gardening and loved showing off his flowers and his walkway. Gerald is survived by his wife of 53 years Edna; Sons Gerald Jr (Jennifer), Timothy (Krista), Jerome ; Siblings Marilyn (Buchan), Edmund (Beverley), Grahan (Heather), Raymond (Betty), Gerard (Susan), Joseph (Jane) ; Brother in-law Oswald Jewers ; Grandchildren Darren (Destiny), Brandi, Jayden, Tiernan, Landyn; Great Grandchild Myra. He is reunited in heaven with his twin sister Aileen McNutt and sister Jacinta Morin; Brothers Jerome and Harold. He was truly great man and will be missed by all that knew him. Celebration of life will take place at the Elmsdale Fire Hall on Oct 30th From 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The Walsh family wishes to express our gratitude to the staff at Cobequid Health Centre and the staff at 8.2 at the Halifax infirmary.
