In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
GORDON, Michael Grant (Mickey) - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael "Mickey" Gordon on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the age of 67 years. He was surrounded with loved ones by his side at Health Sciences Centre Hospital.
Mickey will be lovingly remembered by his wife Nancy, of 47 years. His sons, Will (Jasmina), Rob (Holly); daughter Christina; grandchildren, Gabbi, Brayden, Mackie, Maja, Gavin, Taylor and Zane. His twin Laurie, and other siblings, Glenn and Kathy. Along with many relatives and friends. Predeceased by his brother Ken and nephew Jarrett.
Mickey was born and raised in Winnipeg. He joined the Canadian Naval Reserve where he met his soulmate, Nancy. Mickey worked as an engineer for CP Rail for 37 years. He was a Scouting (Cubs) leader for 26 years in both Winnipeg and Selkirk. Mickey was a very creative and talented artisan, who loved to create with his hands. Mickey and Nancy moved to Libau to raise their three children in the country.
He loved spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, large extended family and pets. All those who knew Mickey, loved and were inspired by him and his big heart.
Mickey will be cremated, with his final resting place at Glenn Eden Cemetery. We will have a celebration of his life in the spring.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Cancer Care Selkirk and Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion. (The Winnipeg Free Press 22 Oct 2022)
