MacISAAC, Alexander Joseph - We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Alex J. at home on September 7, 2022, at the age of 82.

Left to hold his memory dear are his wife Carmel (Stapleton), and his children and their families: Glenn, Angela, Leah and Graham; Sherry, Dan, Kate and Mark; Jason and Melanie.

Alex was predeceased by his parents Alex Angus and Mary MacIsaac, and by his siblings Gordon, Agnes, and Dominic (in infancy).

Alex will be missed by his surviving brothers, sisters, and their spouses: Raymond and Lenora, Margaret, Maurice, Dianne, Betty and Norbert, Frances and Debbie, Roger and Debbie, Richard and Carrie.

Alex’s presence will also be missed by his many friends and neighbours on Kingsmere Court who brought so much joy to his life. Alex was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces, having served 37 years in the Royal Canadian Navy until his retirement in 1995. Many years as a valued employee of Kent Building Supplies followed. Alex gave back to his community as a member of the Lion’s Club, and through many memorable events on his special street in Timberlea. He found particular happiness in his role as a grandfather. Alex loved technology and was quick to embrace it. He was a fix-it man extraordinaire. In his senior years, Alex enjoyed travelling with Carmel and their friends Cathy and Rob, perfecting his board game skills, and doting on his dog, Bella. Alex will be fondly remembered as a warm, generous, and funny man who left the world too soon. Cremation has taken place.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 15th, 2022, at 1:30 PM at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre.

A special thank you to Ray, MaryAnne, Steven, Doreen, and Denise who were there for Alex when he most needed them. (The Saltwire Network 14 Sep 2022)
