In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
EVANS, Stephen Anthony (Steve) - 46, Hatchet Lake, Halifax Co., passed away Thursday, January 10, 2008, at home. Born in Digby, he was a son of Roy and Katharine (WHITMAN) Evans, Kingston. In early years he worked on the family farm and later joined the Royal Canadian Navy, training as a cook. After leaving the Navy, he was a meat cutter and cook for a period of time in various locations. Stephen also worked with his mother as a salesman in her business "Ewe Wear" for several years. Most recently he was employed at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Stephen's outgoing personality was an asset in any position he held. Surviving, besides his parents, are sisters, Cynthia (Allan) Gates, Abbotsford, B.C.; Katharine (Bert Hudgins) Evans, Kingston; brothers, Herbert (Thania) and David (Julie), both of Kingston. He was predeceased by his life partner, Oran Mosher. By request, visitation will not take place. A celebration of Stephen's life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, followed by a reception in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448, Mr. George LeBlanc officiating, with interment at a later date. A memorial service will also take place at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, day and time to be announced later.
