Served in the RCN 13 Sep 1940 - 27 Oct 1959

 

MICHAUX Emile J. D. - Predeceased by his wife Mary (ne Ross-Jones), Emile will be remembered lovingly by his sons Robert (Julie) and Leonard (Shelley). He was a cherished "Pop" to David, Peter, Bridget and Sarah (David Kitching). Dennis Latham (Barbara) was a dear friend and neighbour who cared deeply for Emile and shared his passion for the euphonium. Emile also leaves a large extended family in Victoria and Belgium. Emile had alife-long involvement with Victoria's musical community. He served as a member and Bandmaster of the Naden Band 1940-1957, he introduced the joy of music to countless students in School District 61 1960-1975 and continued teaching privately until December 2002. Prayers will be offered at McCall Bros. on Wednesday, January 8 at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 9 at 12:10 p.m. at St. Andrew's Cathedral, 740 View. St. In lieu of flowers, Emile's family would appreciate your donation to the Mary Michaux Memorial Bursary Fund, c/o The Victoria Conservatory of Music, 907 Pandora Ave., Victoria, BC, V8V 3P4, or your charity of choice.
