CORMIER, Norman Cyril - It is with great sadness that our amazing father and Poppy, passed away on August 22, 2022 at the Cowichan District Hospital, Duncan, BC, after a difficult recovery from heart and kidney issues in early July. He was 95 years old, 8 days short of his 96th birthday. He had a full and wonderful life, serving in the Navy, Chef at many Victoria restaurants and finishing his career as a Chef Instructor at both Camosun and Malaspina Colleges. He had a wicked sense of humour, enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and cherished the time he spent with family and friends. His heart was broken when he lost his wife, Shirley, earlier this year but he managed to continue living alone in his home until early summer. Norm is predeceased by his wife Shirley Cormier (January 2022) and daughter Joanne Campbell (June 2021). He is survived by his brother Calvin Cormier, daughters Denise Archibald (Dave, Bryan and Brad), Linda Cormier, Sherry Senini (Brent, Cori, Carly and Austin), sons Pete Gwillim (Liz, Melissa, Amber and Ari), Dan Gwillim (Sharlene, Colby and Brodie), Darren Cormier (Diana, Sasha and Misty), and Joanne's daughter Lori Kosma (Dave, Nicholas), along with many great-grandchildren. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. (Victoria Times Colonist 09 Sep 2022)
