In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
HOYLE, Edwin M. - passed away suddenly on Friday, July 8, 2022, one week shy of his 96th birthday. He was predeceased in 2006 by the love of his life, Doreen, to whom he had been married for 55 years at the time of her passing. He was also predeceased in 1986 by his son, Michael. He will be missed greatly by his son, Peter (wife Adriane); and also by his granddaughter, Michelle Hoyle; and his great-grandchildren, Alycia Lima, Isabella Lima and Grayson Hoyle. Ed was born and raised in Toronto and served in the Navy during WWII. He found great fulfillment in his chosen profession as an Electrician and had been a proud member of the IBEW Local 353 for 78 years at the time of his passing. Ed was a devoted husband and father, giving selflessly of his time, energy and talents to his family. As well, throughout his life, he was always active in service to his church. For the last 57 years, that church had been Kingsview Free Methodist Church, where a Memorial Service is planned for Tuesday, August 16th, at 1:30 p.m. The church is located at 15 Kingsview Blvd. (one block north of Dixon Road, west of Islington Avenue). In lieu of flowers, donations to the church would be appreciated. We believe that the greeting he received upon his arrival in heaven would have been the words from Matthew 25 v.23; "Well done, good and faithful servant". (The Toronto Star 23 Jul 2022)
