MARCHANT,
Kenneth Lloyd - Just days after his 95th birthday when family and
friends were able to share their love with him, Kenneth (Ken) Lloyd Marchant
passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 17, 2022 at home in Braeside.
He is survived by three daughters, Judy (Dale) Whitelock, Joanne (Stephen)
Keen, Jerrie (John) Legree, six granddaughters and 10 great-grandchildren.
Born in Kenora ON, Ken joined the navy at 16, serving two years in WWII. He
is predeceased by his first wife, Olive Sigurdson (2003), his second wife,
Margaret (Nan) Leeming (2015), two brothers and a sister.
Ken was always active, swimming lakes and rivers in his youth, bowling and
hockey (goalie) in middle age, then competitive swimming, horseshoes, golf,
and pickleball in retirement. He was a long time member of the Arnprior
Greyfish Swim Club and accumulated a large collection of medals.
Ken was a thoughtful, loving husband, father, and "papa" to his
family. He created a long, rich, interesting life and has documented
everything for us so we plan to put it all on his own website to honour his
legacy. As he wrote in his memoir, "I did it my way". (The Ottawa
Valley News 01 Jul 2022)
