In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
SMITH, James Pearman (Jim) - On Thursday, June 16th, Jim died peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital at the age of 93. Predeceased by his loving wife, Irene (2021), and cherished son, Wayne (2014). Jim will always have a special place in the hearts of his daughter, Julie and her husband Jim. He will be warmly remembered by his brothers Malcolm (Kay) and Dave (Noreen), daughter-in-law Kristen, grandchildren Shannon (Chris), Jim (Lindsay), and great-grandchildren Athena and Zoe. Jim served his country by enlisting in the Navy when he was a young man. When his ship was docked in Halifax, he met a wonderful young lady who was to be his wife for over 70 years. Jim had a long and successful career at Dofasco where he was employed for 38 years. After retirement he spent his first few summers cutting the greens at Southern Pines Golf course. A special thank you to the kind and compassionate staff in the ER and ALC units at St. Joe's. Private cremation has taken place. (The Hamilton Spectator, 18 Jun 2022)
