In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
GIRARDET, Paul M. - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, dad, grandpa and brother. Predeceased by his parents, Marcel and Charlotte and youngest daughter, Jennifer. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Denisse, daughter Paula (Josh), son Jeff (Tammy), grandkids, Hayley, Tyson, Chase and sister Blanche. Paul was born in Prince Rupert on April 11 1945. He joined the navy in 1962 where he participated in the Shop 16 Naval Apprenticeship program until 1966 finally leaving in 1969. He worked in the local shipyards until he found his place as a Civilian at DND where he was truly in his element, starting out as a machinist and finishing off his career as a QC inspector for hydraulics and weaponry. From 1972-1982 he spent his leisure time on the badminton court playing with the Esquimalt group. In retirement he found a passion for golf and the lives of his grandkids, always interested in what was going on in their worlds. Forever a problem solver, he was always involved with and helped the ones he loved. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. We love you. A service will be held at 12 pm on June 16 at the Colwood location of Sands funeral home. Published by The Times Colonist from Jun. 4 to Jun. 6, 2022.
