In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
CARRIGAN, Harold Russell - Age 81, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022 in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII. Born to late parents, Russell and Marion, Dad grew up on a farm in a small town in Quebec where he began to work at a young age. He owned a pet fox which made for a pretty good story over the years. Once he turned 19, he joined the RCN in which he dedicated 27 years of service. Upon retiring from the navy, he served 22 years with Commissionaires Nova Scotia where he mainly worked for Halifax City Hall. He worked hard to ensure that his family was well cared for, he was very generous with his time and energy towards others and was always there to listen and be of support whether he knew you for 20 years or for 20 minutes. He always had a warm smile for anyone that he encountered. As much as he loved and cared for his family he was in love with the sea and his service in the navy, those were the best times of his life. Our father/husband had a beautiful energy surrounding him. His hobbies included coin collecting, collecting interesting stones, gardening, and lying in the sun. He also had a great interest and knowledge in history. He was a person who gave all of his true self and asked for minimal. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carolann; daughter, Daphne; grandson, Tyller and niece, Ann Charles. Harold was predeceased by his daughter, Sheree; and his sister, Lois. Cremation has taken place and a visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2nd from 12-2 p.m. from T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade Lake Cres., Halifax, NS B3S 1C4. Arrangements have been entrusted to T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax. (The Saltwire Network 29 Mar 2022)
