William Edward Lockington

 

Ordinary Seaman, VR-3653, RNCVR

 

Born: 12 Dec 1875, Port Hope, Ontario

 

Died: 17 Jan 1951

 

William enlisted in the Canadian Army during the First World War on 10 Aug 1914 in Toronto, ON for the 13th Canadian Field Ambulance (10 Aug - 16 Sep 1914). He was transferred to the 10th Battalion C.E.F. (16 Sep 1914 - 06 Feb 1915) and later the 11th Battalion C.E.F. (06 Feb 1915 - 29 Nov 1916). He shipped overseas 03 Oct 1914 while part of the 10th Battalion. He was returned from England in Apr 1915 and medically discharged for flat feet. His rank on discharge was Corporal.

 

After his discharge from the C.E.F., he joined the RNCVR in Toronto, ON.

 

William Lockington's Army Service file gives his year of birth as 1875; the RCN Ledger Sheets give his year of birth as 1878

 

William Lockington is buried in the Prospect Cemetery, Toronto, ON.
