At the age of 17 Jeff joined the Royal Canadian Navy, serving on many bases, including a tour with UNEFME (Ismailia, Egypt) and many Halifax based ships, particularly HMCS Kootenay. They had become his extended Kootenay family. Jeff was a member of the McAdam Legion. He loved watching hockey and cheering for his favourite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs and his hockey display room was his pride and joy with the Leafs front and centre.
