De LEEUW, Edward - With heavy hearts we say a final farewell to a loving Father, Grandpa and Opa. Survived by wife Doreen of 43 years, children Rob (Carol), Kevin (Avra), Ron, Sarah (Dan), Trisha (Rob), 11 grandchildren & great-grandkids, brothers Bob (Kay, Suzi), Tom (Brian) and longtime friends Keith (Marie) Doak & John Thistle (USA), also many relatives near and far. Pre-deceased by father Elias (Ed), mother Johanna Wilhemina (Ann), sister-in-law Bonnie and ex-wife Yvette. His childhood was spent in his beloved Belleville, Ontario. This is where he joined the RCN which took him to many countries: the Orient, U.S.A., Holland. His stories were many, of his escapades wherever he sailed. Ed was a Veteran of RCN, employee of DND, volunteer at the Langford Fire Dept., a house builder and had many other accomplishments. He loved fishing, 10 pin bowling and playing bingo. He was gentle, kind, caring and supportive. To know him was to love him. Special thanks to John, Keith & Marie. Many thanks to Broadmead Memorial for Ed's wonderful care. Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date. (Victoria Times Colonist 11 Dec 2021)
