LANDSLEY, Patrick Alfred - of St. Thomas, Ontario died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the age of 95, heading to the Big Studio in the Sky. Beloved husband of Catherine Marshall. Dearly loved father of Sean of Quebec, Liam and Tracy Landsley of British Columbia and grandfather of Kitana and Yasmin. Predeceased by sisters Evelyn, uncle of Geri and Jay Christiansen and Geri, uncle of Colleen Rose. Patrick was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on August 13, 1926, son of the late Winnifred (Stanier) and Patrick Landsley. Winnipeg School of Art offered Patrick a scholarship to Montreal, Quebec where he studied at the Musée de Beaux Arts, winning another scholarship and was off to France for two years to study with Fernand Léger and Gustave Sangier. Patrick was a retired Professor of Fine Arts at both Concordia and McGill Universities, Montreal and Professor Emeritus of Concordia ending his teaching career after nearly 50 years. He was a Veteran with the Canadian Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War Two and awarded several medals including the Burmese Star. Patrick was a parishioner of Holy Angels' Church. He continued painting until 2020. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice, preferably fine arts or humanitarian organizations. Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas entrusted with arrangements.
