PARKS, Evans Labelle - 88, Halifax, passed away peacefully June 23, 2004, in camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax. He was born in East LaHave, a son of the late Mabel and Basil Parks. He is survived by sisters, Hettie and Corinne; brothers, Melvin and Ross. He was predeceased by his wife, Olive May (Osmond) Parks; sisters, Doris and Letoile; brothers, Rex, Clayton, and Glen. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. A navy veteran of the Second World War, he was a long-time members of the Fairview Branch Legion. An accomplished bridge player and a life master, he was a member of Halifax Bridge World for many years. His other interests included sports fishing and playing the piano and fiddle. Visitation will be held 9-10 a.m. Saturday with memorial service 10 a.m. Saturday both in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax, Rev. Vincent Ihasz officiating. Burial in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 6136 Almon St., Halifax.
