Died: 24 May 2008, Delta, British Columbia

 

GRADY, Nancy Eden (née HAYWARD) - Born February 23, 1919; died May 24, 2008, in Delta, B.C. Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Tom Grady, and her brother Robin Hayward (Patsy). She is survived by her brother David Hayward (Roberta); her sister, Jill Hewison (Mark); stepsons Murray Grady, Gary Beckley, Edgar Beckley and their families. She is also survived by her niece, Sarah Hayward, and nephew, Bill Hayward. Nancy served in the W.R.C.N.S. from 1943 to 1946. She was a motor transport driver and after serving in Galt, then HMCS Bytown, she was drafted as one of the "Fighting 29" Wrens, the first to go to Cornwallis. She taught at the Jericho Hill School for the Deaf for 30 years. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 602 Kingsway, Vancouver, at 12:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
