Died: 24 Nov 2021, Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

McKAY, James - Of Dartmouth, passed away on November 24, 2021 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Henry and Minnie (Mallison) McKay. As a young man, James moved to Halifax and joined the Royal Canadian Navy where he served for 30 years as a Weapons Technician. After retiring from the Navy, he worked at the police office in Shearwater. James is survived by his wife Marie Kathleen (Degiobbi) ; sons James Allan (Joanne); Robert Joseph; grandchildren, April Marie, Charles Allen and Holly Patricia; great grandson Oscar Taylor. He was predeceased by his sisters Jean McGuigan and Harriet Hatfield and brother Henry. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home. A private interment will take place at a later date in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.  (Saltwire Network 27 Nov 2021)
